About

Rev Randy Keats

Metaphysical Minister
Certified Life-Cycle Celebrant™

I'm in the happiness business.

I mark the moments that matter, the ones that change who we are and who we belong to, and I make them extraordinary experiences that people carry with them for the rest of their lives.

I'm a ceremonial facilitator and ritual creator. I officiate and guide individuals, couples, families, companies and organizations through life's key events. I'm an ordained Metaphysical Minister with Canadian International Metaphysical Ministries (CIMM), authorized to legally officiate ceremonies in British Columbia.

The Craft

Trained in the Art of Ceremony

I'm also a Certified Life-Cycle Celebrant™, trained through the Celebrant Foundation & Institute (CF&I) with a concentration in Weddings. My education covered the art of ritual and ceremony, world and faith traditions, ceremonial writing, and public speaking.

More than anything, it changed how I see a ceremony. Every rite of passage is a threshold. There is the person you were before and the person you are after, and that crossing deserves to be witnessed. A ceremony has a shape, too, and when each moment is placed with care it carries people from where they are to somewhere new, rather than simply filling time.

I learned to find meaning in objects: a grandmother's ring, a handful of soil from home, a tradition borrowed from a culture that speaks to you. Most of all I learned that the heart of every ceremony is the story. Yours, told truly, is what turns a lovely event into one people remember.

There are opportunities for ceremony all around us — and so many moments we let pass without honouring them.

My Path

East, West & the Everyday

My spiritual life truly began in 1981, in the Kullu Valley of northern India. There I met Swami Shyam, founder of the International Meditation Institute, and something opened in me that went far beyond the religion I'd grown up with. The world suddenly felt larger, and so did the sacred. Under his guidance I studied ancient texts such as Patanjali's Yog Darshan, and I explored yoga in all its forms, not just as postures but as a whole way of understanding the mind, the self, and what connects us.

Meditation became my teacher. Over the years it showed me things words can only point to: that stillness is not emptiness, and that the deepest truths are often found in silence.

About a decade ago, my path took me into three years of ceremonial work with a traditional healer from the Amazonian traditions. Those journeys deepened and confirmed what India had first awakened in me and what meditation had shown me. Wisdom from opposite sides of the world was pointing to the same truth.

Every ceremony I create carries that whole journey: the meeting of East and West, the ancient and the everyday, the mystical and the mundane.

How I Work

The Sacred Is Right Here

I've gathered what I know from ancient traditions and from the raw, unfiltered life of the city. I've learned that the sacred isn't somewhere far away. It's right here: in the way two people look at each other across a crowded room, in the way a family gathers around a kitchen table, in the way we carry each other through grief. Ceremony simply gives us permission to stop and notice.

In a world addicted to speed and noise, I offer something quieter: patience, presence, and room to breathe. My background in energy medicine shapes how I hold space. I pay close attention to the feeling in the room, to what's unspoken, and to the quiet shift that happens when people are truly witnessed. I bridge the old ways and modern life.

Whatever your path or belief — or if you don't have one — your ceremony is written for you and no one else.
